Default Armor Question...

I'm buying Drok's Armor for my necro and see that the nicest armor is the regular NECROMANCER armor but it doesn't have any special capabilities as compared with the others.

Does that mean that it can accept more runes or is it just inferior?

Well, I'm not familiar with necro armor but I know it won't be able to accept more runes.

It's inferior to the point when trying to defend against certain atks and dmg.

All the armors have pros and cons. The regular set is the baseline - 60AL and +10 energy.

Scar Pattern - +17 energy, so it's better stat-wise than the baseline.

Necrotic - 70AL +10 energy, but reduced protection against Holy Damage. So an attacking monk could hurt you worse than if you were wearing the baseline set.

Tormentor - 70AL. Same as Necrotic.
Bonelace - 60AL, +15AL against piercing attack.

So, you could probably make arguments for using the Necrotic/Tormentor as the best defensive set, but if you always find yourself low on energy, the Scar Pattern would be worth checking out.

As far as looks, I think the Crystal Desert Collectors set is the best looking necro set, at least for female necros. And it's essentially free... the 15K sets are a better status symbol though, and of course the FoW set is the ultimate status symbol.

i think when you pay for the droks armours with no bonuses in blue writing.. you pay less materials overall and that is the reason it doesnt include them. But each one is better for a different reason-just pick the one that suits you best.

Thanks

I went with the necrotic for now and will look into the desert collector's armor. The pre-searing collector's armor is the same skin as the collector's armor from the shiverpeaks (which looks pretty good).

I won't be able to get the 15k armor anytime soon though although I do really like the 15k bonelace.
